Well-known for its speciality films, Kernow Coatings provide one of the largest ranges of materials possible for the aqueous market. Even though Solvent and UVC have become potent new technologies, we are still developing updated aqueous inkjet coatings today, aimed at creating new products to suit the latest printers on the market. Newcomers such as the HP Z6100 have, for example, encouraged us to reconsider some of our coating formulations, with the result that we have developed one of our best universal aqueous coatings so far. Aqueous isn’t dead for sure, far from it!
Just like any other range from Kernow Coatings the HydroJet range is based on tough polyester-based films for better stability and durability. But a distinguishing feature of HydroJet is its ‘Hydro’, water-based coating formulation. Safer and cleaner for our environment to produce and to dispose of (no solvent contents in the coating and no VOC from the base film, unlike PVC materials) it does not compromise on functionality, still able to generate a high degree of water-resistance in use, high ink absorption, fast drying, maximum vibrancy , with anti-static back coatings to allow better roll feed.
Most of the HydroJet materials should work in this way although a small selection of our products are kept specifically to be only suitable for thermal and dye inks systems (for market reasons). The bulk of the newer products are universally compatible with Dye, Pigmented, Ultrachrome and Vivera inks including printers such as the latest HP, Epson, Canon and Roland aqueous inkjet printers.
