The Kernow HydroSol coatings fall within the Hydroprint range, materials developed for print houses used to offset-type conditions, instant-drying, with scuff- and water-resistance a given.

The HydroSol materials should work in this way with all 'eco/mild' solvent printers, including Grenadier, Seiko Colorpainter, Mimaki JV-3 and Roland Soljet/Versacamm. The Hydrosol range is also compatible with UVC and silkscreen printers.The anti-static back coatings included on all materials are important on some roll-fed machines

We use the word toner because this is not limited to standard desktop laser printers. Whether a machine creates the image by laser light or by LED makes little difference: it is how it handles the material and fuses the toner onto it that matters. And some of these materials can be used on Xeikon and other high-speed reel-fed machines that are more properly described as digital presses. With the correct materials, serious scratch- and wet-rub resistance. While every print, and most materials, get affected by direct sunlight over time, the combination of toner printing and film makes medium-term (say 6 months) outdoor signage possible without lamination. Industrial applications are being developed, because now simple digital print can also be used in hot, cold, humid and greasy environments. And the possibilities at Point of Sales are almost limitless!  We specialise in polyester-based filmic materials, both plain and with various forms of adhesive, which can be used for more than just printing a tear-resistant page.

Kernow Hydroprint films deliver all the dimensional stability and colour advantages of polyester, with the added benefit of surface coatings that improve ink adhesion, a real challenge with UVC inkjet printers.  Especially to be recommended where the product will be repeatedly handled and rolled. In addition, anti-static additives improve runnability for automatic machines.
