Polyester film wouldn’t be printable if it wasn’t for its
coating, and coatings are what KC specialise in. We are constantly
looking at improving our coating solutions and finding new
technologies, especially helping the market trend to
new digital printers. Whether it’s for aqueous, solvent,
UV-curable inkjet or dry toner we have a solution for most
demands.
Nowadays, 95% of our coatings are water-based solutions,
including for pressure-sensitive adhesives (against the more
commonly used solvent system). Why? Simply because they are
cleaner to use during the production process and cleaner to dispose of. But are they resistant enough? Of course! Just think
about the car industry, they too use water-based solutions in
their paint systems now.
